City of Hornell: Street sweeping and milling begins this Sunday

Five city streets will be milled on Monday May 5

From City Hall,

The City street sweeper will begin its regular schedule of street sweeping on SUNDAY NIGHT, May 4, 2025.

No parking will be permitted on streets from 11 p.m.- 7 a.m. in wards scheduled for trash pickup the following day.

These parking restrictions are in effect regardless of refuse pickup, holidays, or modifications to the street-sweeping routine. They will continue through early fall.

Cars in violation of the parking prohibition will be ticketed by the Hornell Police Department.

The Department of Public Works will be milling the following streets on Monday, May 5, 2025.

Maxwell Ave.

Lily Ave.

Charles Street

Scott Street (Ontario St. to Rte. 36)

Merrill Ave. (Crosby St. to Pleasant St.)

There will be an increase in heavy truck traffic and NO PARKING on these streets beginning at7 a.m. Monday, May 5, 2025.  Please find alternate places to park for the day prior to 7 a.m.
