For Nate Warczok, what began as a side hustle alongside his firefighting career has quickly grown into a thriving business. In just one year, his company, Precision EarthWurx, has exceeded expectations, building a strong reputation and a loyal client base across the Finger Lakes Area.

A Year of Growth and Groundwork

Warczok launched EarthWurx about a year ago with help from his father. They secured the necessary equipment and business licensing, and from the start, the business has been a success. “We’ve had a great first year,” Nate said, “It’s gone better than I ever could have expected.” The company’s current fleet includes a new 2025 New Holland skid steer with various attachments, a dump trailer, and an equipment trailer. For larger jobs, he finds it more efficient to rent specialized equipment, like excavators, which avoids the costs and hassles of maintenance.

Precision EarthWurx specializes in a variety of services, including:

  • Gravel driveways and drainage work
  • Gutter downspout installation
  • Shed and barn pad preparation
  • Excavation for foundations
  • Land clearing, yard grading, and retaining walls

Warczok’s versatility is a point of pride. Rather than focusing on a limited list of services, he prefers to ask clients, “What do you need done?” This customer-first approach, combined with his dedication to quality work, has been a key factor in his rapid success.

Winter Plans and a Family Foundation

As the colder months approach, Warczok is making strategic adjustments to his business. With excavation work slowing down due to frozen ground, he’s shifting his focus to land clearing, debris hauling, and similar tasks. This allows him to continue providing essential services through the winter without the need for snow plowing, which his firefighting schedule doesn’t permit.

The future is bright for Precision EarthWurx. Nate plans to expand his service area and, within the next year, move his home base closer to Rochester to better serve clients across the region. He hopes to double his work volume in the coming year and eventually hire employees to help with the growing demand.

Above all, his business is motivated by his family. “My wife and my two daughters, Ray Lynn and Laney, are my main inspiration,” he shares. For Warczok, Precision EarthWurx isn’t just about moving dirt; it’s about building a solid future for those he loves.
