๐„๐‹๐‹๐€ ๐–๐‡๐ˆ๐“๐„ ๐’๐„๐“๐’ ๐๐„๐– ๐‡๐‡๐’ ๐Ž๐”๐“๐ƒ๐Ž๐Ž๐‘ ๐“๐‘๐€๐‚๐Š ๐‘๐„๐‚๐Ž๐‘๐ƒ! Hornell junior ๐„๐ฅ๐ฅ๐š ๐–๐ก๐ข๐ญ๐ž broke a 36 year old Hornell High School Track record in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.18! The previous record stood since 1990 at a time of 12.2 set by Hornell Sports Hall of Famer ๐๐ž๐ญ๐ก ๐…๐š๐ซ๐ซ๐ž๐ฅ๐ฅ.

Saturday’s Tiger Invitational in Warsaw saw several Hornell athletes hit top marks. ๐”๐ซ๐ข๐ฃ๐š๐ก ๐Œ๐š๐ญ๐ญ took first place in the discus throw with a throw of 120′ 02″ and fifth in the shot put throwing 34′ 01″. The boy’s 4×400 team of ๐„๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข๐จ๐ญ ๐Š๐ฅ๐ž๐ž๐ฌ, ๐‚๐จ๐ฅ๐ž ๐‡๐จ๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ž๐ซ, ๐ƒ๐ž๐ฆ๐š๐ฒ๐ง๐ž ๐ƒ๐ข๐ฑ๐จ๐ง, and ๐‚๐จ๐ง๐ง๐ž๐ซ ๐Œ๐ž๐ž๐ก๐š๐ง took third (4:15.70). Cole also took third in the 200 (24.5), and Demayne took fifth (24.9). Rounding out the points for the boys team, Conner placed third in the 800 with a time of 2:16.8.

On the ladies side, ๐’๐ž๐ฅ๐ž๐ง๐š ๐Œ๐š๐ฅ๐๐จ๐ง๐š๐๐จ placed first in the long jump (16’7″) and third in triple jump (32’3″). She was also part of the winning 4×400 relay team (4:32) along with ๐ƒ๐ž๐ฅ๐š๐ข๐ง๐ž๐ฒ ๐“๐ก๐จ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ฌ๐จ๐ง, ๐ƒ๐š๐ฏ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ง ๐“๐ก๐จ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ฌ๐จ๐ง and ๐’๐ข๐ฅ๐ฏ๐ข๐š ๐‚๐š๐ซ๐ซ๐ž๐ญ๐ญ๐จ. Delainey also placed second in the 400 hurdles (1:13.40), and her sister Davvyn took second in the open 400 (1:07.10). ๐„๐ฅ๐ฅ๐š ๐–๐ก๐ข๐ญ๐ž placed first in the 200 (26.9). ๐„๐ฅ๐ข๐ฌ๐š ๐๐จ๐๐ข๐ง ran to a third place title in the 3000 (11:55.20) and then another third place spot in the 1500 (5:38.00). ๐‘๐ข๐ฅ๐ž๐ฒ ๐‡๐š๐ซ๐ฐ๐จ๐จ๐ took fifth in the long jump (13’10.5″), ๐๐š๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐ž ๐‚๐จ๐ฅ๐ฌ๐จ๐ง was sixth in the 400 hurdles (1:20.7) and ๐Œ๐š๐ฎ๐ซ๐š ๐Š๐ก๐จ๐ซ๐ค was sixth in the 200 (30.1). Next both the boys and girls teams are away at LeRoy on Tuesday.
