DANSVILLE – UR Medicine Noyes Health is continuing to grow and improve its services with the addition of a Pulmonary and Critical Care Physician.
Dr. Jaime Molina is currently working in the Holroyd Intensive Care Unit. In addition to working in the ICU, he will also be opening a pulmonary care practice at Noyes.
“Regardless of having one of the highest incidences of pulmonary disease and lung cancer in New York State, the region has been without a permanent pulmonary specialist,” said Dr. Chad Teeters, President and CEO of Noyes Health. “This gives Noyes a much-needed service line that isn’t offered locally, so that will be incredibly helpful for the community. He also brings higher acuity level for our ICU and a skillset to better manage our patient population.”
Dr. Molina comes to Noyes from the Bath VA Medical Center.
Born and raised in Santo Domingo, Dominican, he lived in Framingham, Mass., while his father worked on his post-graduate studies.
“I went to Medical School at Universidad Iberoamericana in Santo Domingo with my summer research rotations at Boston University Medical Center under the Department of Anesthesia,” said Dr. Molina.
“My Internal Medicine Residency was at Carraway Methodist Medical Center in Birmingham, Ala.”
After that, Molina completed a two-year Critical Care Fellowship at Cooper University Hospital-UMDNJ Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and a Pulmonary Fellowship at Bridgeport Hospital- Yale New Haven Medical School Program. In both Programs he was Chief fellow during his last year.
After training, he was recruited to direct the Pulmonary and Critical Care services at Delta Regional Medical Center in Greenville, Miss., for four years.
He then Returned to N.J. to form the Virtua Medical Group Intensivist Program based at Burlington Memorial Hospital as it expanded to form part of the Virtua Garden State Pulmonary Group covering four hospitals totaling over 1,000 beds.
“Later, I served as Pulmonary and Critical Care Associate at Guthrie Medical Group based at Robert Packer Hospital for seven years,” said Dr. Molina.
Dr. Molina currently lives in Horseheads with his wife and four children. He says his family enjoys visiting Canandaigua, Naples and Bristol Hills during the winter and summer months.
In his spare time, he enjoys skiing, snowboarding, swimming, hiking, fishing, boating, kayaking, paddle boarding, and generally spending time outside.
