Fire rips destroys home in Alfred on Jericho Hill, several departments respond

A fire at 5354 County Road 12 (Jericho Hill) closer to Alfred gutted a home around 6 p.m. Saturday night.

Alfred Station, Alfred fire and ambulance along with Andover initially responded to the scene.

The initial call was smoke coming from the home and a dog inside. As firefighter arrived, the home was completely engulfed with flames.

A FAST team and a tanker from Wellsville was called to the scene for mutual aid along with Almond.

The home appears to be completely gutted from the fire. The windows were all smashed and doors open. A bed and boxspring were on the front lawn.
