Avoca-Prattsburgh softball, baseball win; Hornell softball falls to Dansville, 7-1; track and field results

The Avoca-Prattsburgh baseball team improved to 7-4 with a 13-2 win over Alfred-Almond on Wednesday.

Pacey Hopkins tossed a complete game (5-inning) three-hitter with nine strikeouts for the win.

Evan Campbell and Josiah Stilson paced the A-P offense as Campbell went 2-for-2 with a double, RBI, two stolen bases and two runs scored while Stilson had two hits, a RBI, run and stolen base.

Hopkins had a RBI double for A-P while Tucker Gerych had 2-RBI double, Sawyer Devoe had 3 RBI’s and Jamel Crowder drove in two runs.

For Alfred-Almond, Hunter Smith’s RBI single drove in Ethan Sick while Ty Kenney singled and scored.

Avoca-Prattsburgh is at Friendship-Scio today in Friendship.

Softball

Dansville 7, Hornell 1

Dansville’s Sami Mackey tossed a complete game with nine strikeouts and no walks to lead Dansville softball over Hornell, 7-1.

“Some of the things we have gotten away with in the previous wins we didn’t get away with tonight as Mackey was on her game and did a great job in shutting us down,” said Hornell coach Brian Dyring. “We were hampered by errors that led to four unearned runs while Dansville committed zero errors.”

Hornell had four hits as Ragen Evingham was 2-for-3 with two doubles and a run scored and Kaden McGregor had a RBI single.

Jordyn Dyring took the loss pitching 3.2 innings, giving up three hits, three earned runs and struck out seven with two walks. Eveningham pitched the final 3.1 innings with 5K’s, one walk and one earned run.

Softball

Avoca-Prattsburgh defeated Alfred-Amond, 15-0 on Wednesday and lost to Campbell-Savona, 3-2.
