Jones Memorial announces new health care providers in Wellsville and Andover

Ryan Nightingale, MD, & Alexis Niedermaier, FNP, join JMH medical staff

Wellsville, NY (August 16, 2022) – Jones Memorial Hospital is welcoming two new members to the medical staff: Ryan Nightingale, MD, and Alexis Niedermaier, FNP.

Dr. Nightingale will join Dr. Niharika Pasumarty at her 12 Martin Street office in Wellsville. He and Family  Nurse Practitioner Alexis Niedermaier will both see patients at the Andover medical office, located at 20 Main Street, Andover.

“We are very excited to have Dr. Nightingale and Alexis join our medical staff,” said James Helms, CEO at Jones Memorial Hospital.  “Expanding access to primary care providers to communities across Allegany County is one of our goals as we move forward. In addition, both of these providers have an interest and experience in rural medicine.”

A family practice physician, Dr. Nightingale completed his residency at the University of Rochester. He completed the rural medicine track at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, having graduated from Dartmouth College in New Hampshire with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in neuroscience. During medical school, Dr. Nightingale was co-founder and vice president for Upstate Medical University’s Students for Global Heath, recruiting students for global health projects sponsored by the University. He also assisted in research on dengue fever in Ecuador.

While at Upstate Medical University, Dr. Nightingale was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society and received both the Nightingale Scholarship and the Benjamin H. Keane Travel Fellowship in Tropical Medicine from the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene. He has professional proficiency in written and spoken Spanish.  Dr. Nightingale will be joining us on August 29, 2022.

After earning her Bachelor of Nursing degree at Daemen College, Alexis Niedermaier graduated from the D’Youville College Family Nurse Practitioner program in Buffalo. She completed over 700 hours of clinical rotation and is board certified by the AANP. Most recently, she was part of the Olean Medical Group in Cuba where she provided Internal Medicine care. Prior to that earning her FNP, she was a nurse at Jones Memorial and a school nurse at Belfast Central School. Ms. Niedermaier will be joining us on October 10, 2022
