Grand larceny in Bath, serious motor vehicle accident in West Union, Dundee sexual predator arrested in Yates County

Michael T. Baldwin Reports

Bath police say they have arrested a Canisteo man for allegedly stealing a vehicle a short time after being discharged from court. 28-year-old Harley Marble is accused of heisting the vehicle from the Save-A-Lot Food Store earlier this month. Police say the alleged theft happened about two hours after Marble was released from Steuben County Central Arraignment court and then reportedly captured on store video showing him making off with the vehicle. He is currently charged with felony grand larceny while also facing unrelated charges in Canisteo.

Numerous agencies were called out Friday morning for a two-vehicle crash in Steuben County. The good news is, there were no injuries. Canisteo-based state police said the collision was reported at 7:35 a.m. on State Route 248 in the Town of West Union. The drivers were listed as John Turton, 65, of Ulysses, Pa and a name-shielded 18-year-old from Wellsville.

Very serious charges were filed in a case investigated by state police in Yates County. Troopers there arrested Andrew Daugherty, 49, of Dundee. He was charged with two counts of predatory sexual assault involving a dangerous instrument, a class A felony. He was also charged with felony counts of second-degree kidnapping and using a child under the age of 17 for a sexual performance. Also arrested was Micheleine Ridley, 59, of Dundee. She was charged with felony tampering with physical evidence and endangering the welfare of a child. Both were detained.
