NUNDA – A fast start led Dansville to the 60-31 victory over Honeoye in the first round of the Tink McVean Tournament at Keshequa High School Wednesday.
The Mustangs opened up a 21-7 lead over the Bulldogs after the first period.
Dansville, who led 27-16 at the half, outscored Honeoye 33-15 after the intermission.
Dansville (5-2)was sparked by a balanced scoring attack with only one player in double figures led by Collin Gray’s 12 points and three rebounds.
Tyler Harris added nine points with four steals and three rebounds while Zaiden VanDurme-Blackmon and Dawson Wadsworth each netted eight points.
Also for the Mustangs, Nate Gardner scored seven points while Reid Martin added six points and six caroms.
Aazan Sohailcontributed four points and seven boards while Ethan Canfield scored four points with six rebounds.
Honeoye was led by Evan Cuba’s eight points and 12 rebounds.
Honeoye fell to 3-3 overall.
Dansville plays the winner of Keshequa and Warsaw in Thursday’s finals.
