Pennsylvania man attempts to escape from Steuben County Jail, fails

Sheriff Allard reports that the man, “never left the custody of the jail. 

Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports that on May 4, 2023, deputies of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office arrested Nathan T. Foresman, age 42, of Cherry Tree Lane, Turbotsville, Pennsylvania, following an investigation of an attempted robbery and escape in the Steuben County Jail.

It is alleged that Mr. Foresman, a current Steuben County inmate, attempted to forcibly steal an access control device from a Correction Officer while in the jail. It is further alleged that Mr. Foresman’s intent was to use the access control device to escape from custody. Mr. Foresman was charged with Robbery in the Third Degree, a class E Felony and Escape in the First Degree, a class E Felony. Mr. Foresman was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Court and returned to custody.

Mr. Foresman never left the custody of the jail.
