It was a tough draw for No. 5 Alfred-Almond, taking on Notre Dame of Batavia in the Class D sectionals. The Notre Dame boys were pushed up to Class C in baseball, but not softball.
On Tuesday, No. 5 A-A (12-4) fell to No. 4 Notre Dame (15-5) , 3-2.
Alfred-Almond’s Isabel Badeau had another great game as she struck out 14 and scattered three hits. At the plate, Ali Hurd had a double and two hits and Taylor Flaitz had a 2 RBI single.
A-A finished the season strong with a 20-0 win on Senior Night.
In that game, Taylor Flaitz had 2 hits and 3 RBI and 3 runs. Gracen Dusinberre had 2 hits and 2 runs. Isabel Badeau had one hit, 3 RBI, 3 runs. Olivia Flaitz (2 runs, 1 RBI) and Lacey Teed (1 run and 1 RBI) each had a double. Ali Hurd (3 runs) and Lexi Rao (2 runs) each had a hit and RBI.
On the mound, Isabel Badeau threw a shutout with 14 K’s. Alfred-Almond then turned around and downed a very good GV/Belfast team, 6-2 for the 12th win of the year.

For No. 6 A-P, the season came to an end in the Section V playoffs with an 8-6 loss to No. 3 Honeoye (15-4)
Emily Hammond had a great season on the mound and in the sectional game had a RBI double. Ellie Harrell had a triple and two RBI’s, Lily Joritsma and Emma Carlton singled.
A-P knocked off HAC in the first round.
Senior Jordan Swift had an outstanding season along with seniors Ariana Seirra, Hammond and Carmen Daily.
The juniors were Carlton, Lily Hausauer, Haley Prindle and the sophomores was Ellie Harrell. A-P also had seventh-graders Patyon Hopkins and Meyah Putnam starting.
