2023 Chemung County Fall Fest & New Fiber Festival

Indie Dyers Spectrum to Take Place at Chemung County Fairgrounds, Saturday, October 7

Take a road trip to Mark Twain Country! Chemung County Ag Promotions is partnering with Indie Dyer’s Spectrum to host the 2023 Fall Fest & Indie Dyers Spectrum. The festival will happen Saturday, October 7 from 10am – 4 pm at the Chemung County Fairgrounds, 170 Fairview Rd., Horseheads, New York. The event is free and open to the public.

Spend the day with other craft and fiber arts devotees shopping 50+ vendors with spinning fiber, yarn, soap, craft goods, lotions, jewelry, to food vendors and more! Here are a few activities to expect:

·       A variety of demonstrations from local fiber & embroidery guilds throughout the day.  

·       Raffle tickets will be for sale with prizes from participating vendors.

·       4-H will be kicking off their new year with a membership drive, program displays and food service.

·       Bring a project and enjoy the new Makerspace to sit back and enjoy the upstate New York fall season.

·       REC Entertainment providing music all day!

·       Meet & greet fiber and farm animals.

·       Chicken BBQ hosted by the Sportsman Federation

“Fiber enthusiasts who look forward to the annual Indie Dyer Spectrum Fiber Festival are really in for a treat this year.  The new location at the Chemung County Fairgrounds is not only a larger venue with many more vendors from the Southern Tier and Western New York but will have demos, music and great food options,” remarks Sandy Long from Longmeadow Farm in Freedom, NY.  Long has been hosting the Indie Dyers Spectrum in Western New York and is pleased to be partnering with Chemung Ag Promotions and all their affiliated organizations to bring a new fiber-centric event to the region. 

 “Agriculture is an essential industry in Chemung County, and CCE Chemung is excited to participate in the Fall Festival.  Introducing regional indie fiber vendors will make this an extra special event and fun for visitors,” comments Michelle Podolec, Executive Director of Cornell Cooperative Extension Chemung who is helping to coordinate this new endeavor.
