Snowy Owl saved by sheriff deputies

The sharp eye someone in the public relaying information to officers saved an injured Snowy Owl on Tuesday.

Orleans County Sheriff Christopher Bourke reports that on Tuesday morning at 7:36am, Orleans County Sheriff’s Animal Control Officer Katlyn Moore responded to a report of an injured Snowy Owl on Swett Road in Lyndonville.

Upon arrival, Officer Moore located the Snowy Owl in a field.

The owl appeared to have a broken wing.

DEC Officer Nathan Godson responded as well as Brandi from Little Critter Rescue.

The Owl was transported to the Vet for treatment, said Sheriff CBourke.
