Bid Accepted for Veteran’s Memorial Park Pool House Upgrades

LeChase Construction awarded bid, project to be completed this summer

More good news for improvements to Veteran’s Memorial Park at James Street as the Board of Public Works accepted the bid from LeChase Construction for improvements to the Bath House and Locker Rooms at their February meeting.

LeChase Construction secured the bid with a proposal totaling $479,500. The bid includes the modernization of existing changing rooms and the construction of a new family bathroom, fully equipped with fixtures, plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems. Improvements to the existing locker rooms, include the installation of new, ADA-compliant ventilated locker units, new hardwood benches, and improved lighting. An additional bid for $4,500, was also accepted as Alternate #1 to re-paint the existing floors in both locker rooms.

Scheduled for completion in time for the summer season, this project is poised to improve the experience for all pool users. Mayor John Buckley expressed his enthusiasm for the project, “We are really excited about this project and the improvements at Veteran’s Memorial Park. There have been significant investments in our parks, with lots to be excited about. This project is focused on work inside the bath house and locker rooms. These upgrades will improve accessibility and the overall experience for all pool users.”

Veteran’s Park is the site for several improvements planned for completion prior to the summer season. The City’s Department of Public Works has been installing new playground equipment at the park, as well as leveling the softball field. C.P. Ward has also initiated work on upgrading the tennis and basketball courts, alongside the installation of the splash pad, all anticipated for completion early this summer.
